As we begin to repair the site, our focus has been on planning for and creating:

Our experiment:  Will we be able to create enough of a privacy barrier around the south facing patio to make it a truly inviting place?

Time will tell if the plants grow and create an inviting spot to sit and enjoy a sunny day. But I know even now with just our tiny little trees and shrubs around it, I love looking at the little patio. I look out there and I can see how it will be in five years.  I see people sitting out there, parents waiting for their children, neighbors reconnecting, and children being children.

Keith’s Garden is a great example of a #111. Half-Hidden Garden.  I can’t image anybody who wouldn’t want to just walk off the street and wander into his garden.

An example of an #163. An Outdoor Room that I love. The image is from Small Space Garden by David Stevens.

Unfortunately I do not remember where I got this image from, but we would love to have a path like this behind the school. # 169. Terraced Slope.
